Santa Clara is located 45 miles southeast of San Francisco. It is named for Saint Clare of Assisi. The city is located in the Silicon Valley and is home to several high-tech companies such as Intel which is the city’s second largest employer. Santa Clara was founded in 1777 with the establishment of Mission Santa Clara de Asis, the 8th of 21 California missions. Levi's Stadium is the home of the San Francisco 49ers and was the site of Super Bowl 50.
